How to use Zip Wax.

How to get the most out of zip wax.

  1. Having a proper warming vessel helps. Many users find that using the double boiler method works best. Use an old pan (best to dedicate a pan just for waxing as it will be difficult to clean when you are done). Place the old pan on top of another pan that is full of water at a boil. Heat the zip wax in the top pan until it is melted. Test the temperature on your skin to be sure it is not too hot.
  2. Be sure the hair being removed is clean and dry. You can use baby powder to ensure that all moisture is removed from the area but it is not necessary. Do not apply moisturizers or conditioners to the hair being removed. These products will prevent zip from gripping the hair.
  3. Apply zip wax to the area you want to remove hair. Using an applicator (like a popsicle stick or tongue depressor).
  4. Unlike other waxing products, zip wax does not require you to use a muslin strip or a strip of cotton. Zip is strong enough to stick together so that you can just pull on the wax itself. If you prefer to use a cloth strip, any cloth will do. We suggest a loose cotton fabric. Place the fabric strip over the warm wax and press down.
  5. Allow the wax to solidify. This will allow it grip the hair.
  6. With one hand, hold the skin in place. The more still you can keep the skin, the less pain will be experienced. Hold the skin as close to the place where you will grip the wax.
  7. Pull quickly in the direction that the wax or cloth strip is pointed. This will allow you to move the skin as little as possible.
  8. Zip Wax should remove ALL of the hair. If it Has not, please be sure you have followed the directions carefully. A second application is OK, but is rarely necessary.
